I rely on Davinci Resolve 18 for my video editing needs, and it’s an incredibly powerful tool. However, I’ve discovered a way to enhance its capabilities by combining two of my hobbies. While exploring affordable video editing hardware, I realised that they utilise a basic MIDI interface, which coincidentally I already possess, albeit in a slightly different form.
With some patience, I’ve come across a fantastic software called Bome MIDI Translator. It allows me to assign functions within Davinci Resolve to the pads, knobs, sliders, and jog wheels on my MIDI interface. Although it will take a considerable amount of time to perfect the setup, I believe the effort will be worthwhile. I’m accustomed to using the SB3 naturally, and eliminating the need for fumbling with keyboard shortcuts will ultimately save significant time.
Stay tuned for updates on my progress!
